Now reserving screen names for BETA launch

You can now sign up to reserve your screen name and be notified when Poker Underworld launches for BETA testing. Just go to http://www.pokerunderworld.com and click the center panel to reach the registration form.

The artists are hard at work on final touch-ups to the atmosphere of the layout, and once they are done we will make the initial version of the games available to play. Also in the BETA launch, you will be able to begin customizing your Poker Underworld identity by uploading your player badge and descriptions. I hope to have some previews of the new layout available shortly.

New XSPF jukebox taking shape

We have completed the initial jukebox and placed it on the homepage. The jukebox used XSPF playlists to load tracks and album art to display on the website. Eventually it will be placed in the lobby of each level so that you can listen to music while you play at multiple tables.

The nice thing about this jukebox using XSPF is that we will allow users to upload their own XSPF playlist into their account to be accessible through the jukebox. These playlists will be able to be public or private. The jukebox will allow users to choose from the list of public playlists as well as some playlists that Poker Underworld will provide.

For information on how to create an XSPF playlist, go to http://www.xspf.org/

We hope to implement lots of community based features like this in the future and we’re happy to support the XSPF standard at the same time!

Quickly approaching our BETA launch

Welcome to the blog for PokerUnderworld.com!

We would like to welcome our first members and thank you for joining in the new online poker experience. Our team is hard at work developing new features and getting the game ready for our beta launch.

To give you an idea of what to expect in the future, here are some projects we are working on:

  1. Poker Lobby - we will soon launch with our poker lobby which will be the vehicle for entry into Poker Underworld
  2. Account Page - we are working on your public account summary which will let you show off your success by displaying your money earnings, tournament wins and dominance ratings.
  3. Statistics - you will be able to view leaderboards and power rankings for the most dominant poker players at Poker Underworld
  4. Level 2 - we are already working on new levels and new characters for Poker Underworld.

Be sure to check back to this blog for updates and sneak previews of our new features as we are testing them!
