A New Season of Poker Underworld

We are working on some changes to Poker Underworld that I’d like to let everyone know about.
To start, my most exciting news is that we are moving to new servers over the next week. This has been a long time coming, and we’re very lucky to have found new hosting that will solve the speed issues that have plagued us for a long time now. I’ll let you know when we’re moving through the blog since we’ll have to shut the tables down for a few hours.
With the new servers, we’ll be able to host multi-table tournaments, which we couldn’t do before. We’re really excited to be able to do this because we’ll be crowning Champion of Poker Underworld champions every month. We will start with daily tournaments which will seed into the final monthly championship tournament.
We’d like to continue to offer our rooms for free, but we’d like to add a cash tournament as well which will require a $5 entry fee. The winners of the tournament will split this prize. We’ll start having these tournaments every Friday night and then add more if it becomes popular.
Finally, I’m still as concerned as ever about the inflation of points on the site. In the past I have toyed with resetting points monthly, with a lifetime total that carries over. I’ve always backed off on this idea but I think the time has come to reset everybody and find out who the best players are.

I love the idea of a monthly Champion,sounds like a realy good thing for poker underworld.As being a memmber for around a year now and having bult up my points in this time i do how ever find the idea of resting pionts a thing i would not like as it has been a long road to get to the place i now find my self.it would be a shame to lose this as this is what poker underworld has been about for a lot of the players on this site the RANK.maybe we could keep owe points as this dose not take up much space of the web site and it give new players somthing to play for as well as the new ideas you have……i hope we dont lose any of the old ways of poker underworld and that you only add to what is ALREADY THE BEST POKER SITE ON THE NET.all the best coco’
@cocotheclown I certainly agree with you, I don’t want to take anything away or mess with the rankings. That’s why I’d like to keep lifetime points totals (which keep going up) but at the same time, do a monthly reset. I think we’ll get better poker games when people don’t have billions of points, and we’ll get action on all of the tables instead of just the high stakes tables. The lifetime rankings will stay the same, but now we’ll also see who the points leaders are each month, as well as who wins the Champion of Poker Underworld tournaments.
Ithink you have a great poker site.i have enjoyed it for a while now but some players have decided to use this site for other reasons including stealing passwords wich mine was on my first player.I think you should alow us to be able to change are password to keep this from happening.You have a gret poker site and i enjoy playing on it .The monthly point reset would be a good idea and would create better games for everyone. thanks again ryan
hi, ryan ive been on poker underworld 2 years now and its about time there was somthing done about this site, I ive had many probs getting into the all in tables and allways seem to lose conection,im glad the site will be sorted and also looking forword to the new Multi table Tournaments, also we would need moderaters to watch the games, your friend … EVIL HU55L3R …

hi, i was going to say about the change to the site also will there be new colour tables like red or blue,yet facebook can do it buy drinks for fun on the tables and smokes that would be great if you could do that for this site has facebook poker has it? you can also change the colour of the tables there, im sure you have many ideas for poker underworld and it be even better if that could be done even yet its the best poker site ive ever played.. many thanks EVIL-HU55L3R.
I agree that resetting the points would be unfair and if the reasoning is to see who the best players are it would negate who the best players have been up to this point. Alot of new players who have come very far (like myself) but would be unfair to reset now and send people who have accomplished billions back. It is ionly a fictitious number – what does it matter. I do feel like you should somehow control the all in tournaments and allow for only a call and all in button. You should remove the fold option to prevent all the animosity that comes from folding.

I think its a great idea bringing in new tables , but why reset points. Alot of players have been on this site a year or over and have burnt there asses off of to were they are now in RANKINGS and from what i have heard not many players are happy with points been reset.
Bring in new tables and monthly touraments, but leave rankings alone i say and if you want to make it a better site take out the riff raff and some players play 2-4 tables at 1 time and fold on all in table, there should be a limit of tables a player can play at 1 time.
Maybe, you should players to cast a vote about this points reset thing, bring in changes yes tables and touraments.
I agree with Coco and Ryan that I would absolutely NOT LIKE the resetting of points (unless everyone’s points were reset equally so that the ranking would remain the same. The strive for rank is one of the motivating factors for a lot of people playing on this site – including myself. Any changes should be relative to where people currently stand. Its not about the points so much as the rank. It is a game afterall and there is a trill and sense of accomplishment that runs with advancing on the leader board. Resetting points most definitely would be a disappointment and discourage me (as well as a few i know) from continuing to play on this site. I have only been on the site for just about half a year but I play religiously on a daily basis and would hate to have to find another site as fun and user friendly as this one.
CONGRATULATIONS ON FINALLY GETTING SOME MUCH NEEDED NEW ADDITIONS TO THE SITE ITS LONG OVERDUE IN MY OPINION. THE POINTS RESET ISSUE IS A MAJOR CONCERN THOUGH FOR MANY PLAYERS AS THEY HAVE WORKED HARD AND SPENT MANY LONG HOURS TO GAIN POINTS AND RANKING STATUS. IT WOULD BE MOST UNFAIR TO RESET ALL OF THEM I PERSONALLY DONT HAVE AN ISSUE BUT U WOULD ALIENATE MANY IF U DO IT. I THINK MORE IMPORTANT ISSUES ARE MULTI PROFILING,FOLDING ON ALL IN TO GAIN POINTS AND PLAYERS BEING ABLE TO LOAD FOUR PROFILES OR MORE AT ONE TABLE ARE MUCH MORE IMPORTANT ISSUES THAT NEED RESOLVING I WONT MENTION NO NAMES BUT U KNOW WHO U R!!!!!!!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE CAN U MAKE THE TOP 100 HANDS AND WINNINGS TOTALS WORK AGAIN IVE WON OVER TEN MILLION LOADS OF TIMES ON A SINGLE HAND AND IVE BECOME VERY FRUSTRATED THAT IT NEVER APPEARS ON THE LIST??????? IVE ALSO HAD 8 ROYAL FLUSHES THAT DONT EVER APPEAR ON THE LIST EITHER PLZ EXPLAIN?? Tomb raider is wonder ful games.I like it very much.I played tomb raider from tomb gold to tomb 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 and enjoy very much.And i want to more part of tomb raider is came and i play it.Tomb raider improve graphics as well as different thinking with passage of games came.I most like tomb 4 and legend.I and my brother played combined and find difficult ways in problems.I find difficult tast himself with out using internet.One comment is adding about aniversory is last two part is very poor and lot of mistakes is occure.Thanko to give me this option to comments about tomb raider.
