December Updates
Comments(130) Looking at the December leaderboards, it’s nice to see that the bankrolls aren’t ballooning out of control anymore. We’ve got 2 1,000,000 chip tables now, so the stakes are high and leaders will to take some risks to keep growing their totals. Nice.
I have fixed up the 1,000,000 SnG because I raised the chips to 10k, but I left the bets as if the chips were at 1k. I raised everything, but not quite 10x, so the game will be a little slower than the other tables, but not by much.
Now, on the subject of “all in” and “no fold” tables – I can now force calls on timeouts instead of folds. I like the idea of having a separate balance for this type of game, but I can’t make that work right now. I’m open to bringing back those types of tables (without the huge tourney payouts though) and seeing if this new setting ends the fighting. Post your comments here, but I might set up a “no fold” and an “all in” this weekend to see how it goes.

Ryan, I’m having a hard time grasping what it is you want from your site. I’m also having a hard time getting why you don’t get it that ANY allin table is a bad idea. Last night for the first time in a long time there were no problems on any of the tables. There was a reason for that. NO MORE ALLIN TABLES, LOL. Why is that complicated?
As long as you include chips from a no/talent game like that in a ranking system some people will try to cheat to be ranked higher. Back to the same old issues. You keep saying it was a mistake to reinstate the allin concept back in Nov. and now you’re going to do it again? It doesn’t make sense. For the strongest possible site, leave it the way it is and let it grow.

Gann most of us like all in and want it back. Separate it dont count the chips i dont care,all i hear is real poker players, this is video game not real poker.Comeon .I understand y dont like the guys who go all in with nothing preflop,, and how they can get chips on tour,but tour play should be separate so y so call players can stop bitching about something a lot of us like.No matter what this is only a game not real like if y are in a game and a guy bets with cash a whole different game. You just made my point completely. Someone with low self-esteem like Brooky will always try to cheat his way to an accomplishment because he knows he can’t do it any other way. I don’t care about the rankings, this is what I care about.
Because they can just go on an allin table and replenish chips, they’re inconsiderate at the no
limit tables. Along with no allin tables I can’t wait for Ryan to cut the bankrolls because then
going allin pre flop hand after hand will take it’s toll on those players quickly. The site can only get better with good play and good players,
especially since Ryan isn’t willing tooffer any oversight capabilities.
I don’t see how separating the winnings makes Mrpokerisland or Elefterio any more considerate.
Again today I played for a few hours and again there were no problems to speak of. That speaks for itself.

Evil is right no one is on any more. Me and Brooky were on last night and there were only 3 people. However, I think the reason goes back to there being only two prizes instead of three. You could still keep three prizes but just lower the amounts of them so at least 1st and 2nd win more than they bought in for. Im sure a certain someone would LOVE a table where his entire bankroll could be used up at once. This would be the easiest way for someone to pass chips in just one game (when and if they can figure out how to get a double profile on a table). It does appear, however, that me and brooky cannot get on the same table at the same time. I dont know why that is. Although the IP address may be the same (as one works on the desktop mainframe computer and the other plays on the laptop) there is only one internet service so only one IP. We each have our own profile and we are two separate people and should not be restricted from playing together. Actually there should be no restrictions. As you said several times before, the site is not monitored and it is play at your own risk. This is what a free, public community site is about. If players were paying a fee for play privileges, then I could see if someone were so inclined to act upon the personal whims/opinions of a handful of people. But since it is open to the public, you shouldnt pick and choose what/who to monitor, act on or restrict. As for learning any lessons, that is absurd – if i get abused i am going to give it back and defend myself. You do not know the extent of the abuse, insult, invasions and violations inflicted upon me mainly by Evil-HU55ler. Evil is not my parent and is in no position and has no authority to decide how I need to be disciplined, especially when he cant follow his own advice and act in the same manner he sees empowered to expect/demand of everyone else. Fact is it is a free country with freedom of speech and if I have something to say, I will say it whether it be in a chat box or on this blog. No one has the right to silence me just because they cant handle it.
And just for the record, this is what Evil does, he complains and outs like a baby, provokes people to the point where they lash out, has even gotten vulgar and lashed out at you, then back-pedals when he gets what he wants and apologizes and acts friendly again as if nothing ever happened – as if he can just do what he wants (to extreme)and then wipe the slate clean and expect all to be forgiven. As for this “3 strikes or you get a time out” option, this is the problem. Whether or not grown people act infantile or not, we are all adults here and dont need to be treated like babies as HU55 is implying you do. This is why its not fun and turning alot of people. He has to come crying to you to resolve these petty issues. If he doesnt like what you say – mute chat; if he doesnt like the person – ban them; if he doesnt like the folding – penalize them. Ryan, you did not establish a website so that you can parent the players. Solution: if you dont like what people say – ignore it or hold your own; if you dont like a person – pay them no mind; if you dont like the folding – go to another board. They all say they want regular poker but they flock to the tourneys as well. The same people on tourneys who call it bingo can have the same game on a 500k if they just go there instead. Bottom line – grow up and just deal with it. You’re not going to like and get along with everyone and everyone isnt going to like or get along with you. That is simply the way of the world.

Exactly my point – YOU are happy now – its ALL about you. You are a big cry baby. You cant get things accomplished so you have to have Ryan do your dirty work until YOU ALONE are satisfied. Anyone can be nice when they get what they want. The fact that people have to playcate to you shows what a big baby you are. As for having only a first prize – what is the point? You complain about people folding on the tourneys but if there is only one prize to play for, do you think that will stop the folding. It will probably almost guarantee folding, especially with a $1 mil buy-in and more especially with a full table. Who is going to risk those odds going all in. If the tourneys end up being a winner take all game thany why bother? They can just play a regular 500K table and probably win more because at least they will have control over their own betting and can get out when they want. A REGULAR tourney seems to make no sense to me. I think you just want to have the last word until you can control everyone and everything. It has nothing to do with brooky getting his own way. In fact, he hasnt once commented on the blog or asked Ryan for anything. The only person who keeps asking “Ryan do this, Ryan do that” is you. You are the one who seems to need things your way. He just plays the game as he wants and as other do – which is what As for the IP address, I’m not sweating it. It really had no affect other than Elvin not being able to pass himself chips any more and me and brooky not being able to play on the same game at the same time. We both can still play. Hi Ryan nice job… don think you need to bring in higher stake table, just reduce the bankroll for all players…. that way the lower ends players can catch and have a go at the top players. Also notice that many of the ALL-IN LOVERS has gone for their Xmas break after the changes made….. LMAO
I do suggest you made another change to improve the game, that is to change the buy-in rule.
At present, many players are joining the tables with the minimum buy-in and playing recklessly by going all-in preflop. Once they win, they will rush off to bank and return to perform the same task over and over again.
Solution to this siuation is to simply change the buy-in rule. Any players leaving the table with winning and returning within the next half an hour must bring back what they just banked. This will stop all reckless and inconsiderate play. Hope you will take my suggestion into consideration. Thanks and once again, Great job.

Its amazing how, in only four days, the person who wanted all prizes taken away on tourneys so that there is ONLY A FIRST PRIZE to strive for now wants not only 2nd prizes but third prizes back. Are you serious Taxi, how far has Elvin gotten since the site changed? He’s been stuck at this mid-990 range for the past week. You are not any threat. But no one is getting anywhere with these new tables. All anyone playing is the $1mil and people are going down just as easily as they are going up. Everyone seems to be at a standstill. Even me – and im going all in on reg table with shit hands and still winning as much as I lose. What tourneys are getting played? None but the $1 mil buy in. Who is goin all in – no one. So what’s the point. To play such a long, drawn out regular game on a tourney table, with risk of no prize at all if only 3 or 4 players – what’s the point? They should be all gotten rid of if that’s the case because everyone could win more with one hand on regular table, with a $500,000 buy in.

Well, i hav an idea you could use to stop chat blocking:
Remove the html coding from the chat, i mean like the < “command” here > stuff…that way you cant block the chat by using this.
O.k. so it stops the use of enlarged,bold or italic text as such but at least people can actually chat without some (how can i say this….oh i know!!) DICKHEAD thinkin he or she is clever for making it screwed up for other users…
Anyway i think you should take it into consideration as its creating alot of unhappy users…

I think HU55 should add his own name here as you do it along with tons of others.
And why is it banned? because you dont like what you see but yet its ok for you and others to do it but when I stop it because of all the nasty things being said I’m the bad guy and are so low as to bring my wife into it and she has nothing to do with any of it but some are so childish that since there on the net they shouldnt show any respect and act like 8 year old school kids on recess.

As far as this site losing people its not just how the tables are set up but what they see in text, so for not banning the chat is up to you and if you cant be civil then “your” chat should be banned.
Ryan could you please add a chat word filter that bans there chat for 24 hours if they swear and there will be no need for anyone to stop it.
Also the complants about sitting and not playing, yes I did leave my nick up but had to leave and forgot it was and yes it stops others from playing and I’m sorry it happened but its no difference than having 3 or 4 people playing 2 or 3 tables at the same time,others could be playing on them but no you have to many greedy people hogging the tables so Ryan could you set it up so you can only play 1 table at a time, that should fix most of it and already people have figured out how to play 2 profiles on 1 table, they could be using a proxy server so maybe a little work on stopping that aswell.
As far as Brooky and brookLYNN I hope some people here can take there points lol.

I agree almost totally with what you have to say. My only problem is this. It’s no less considerate of you when you block the chat for your reasons than it is when Lyn does it. The results are the same. It takes away a lot from the tables for a lot of people.
Unfortunately, because there’s anonymity to being online there will always be rude, crude and inconsiderate people infringing on others. Your actions add to it. One of the worst feuds on the site, Taxi/HU55 has mellowed out through communicating. If the chat is blocked, nothing good comes of it.

I can tell by your post that you’re confused as usual. I never wanted the fold buttons taken off the tournament tables and I doubt Ryan does either. I think it was an honest mistake on his part. I’m thinking if it’s not fixed yet it will be soon.
I think you and other players like Brooklyn are still very confused about the reason Ryan built this site in the first place although he’s tried to explain it a bunch of times in his blogs. He built it to promote good poker play, for people to learn how to play the game, not for lazy, inconsiderate player like you and Brooklyn to build meaningless and phonie huge bankrolls. The allin tables were established to help build bankrolls while you learned. It’s been abused. It’s Ryan’s site so he shut it down. The biggest reason he shut it down was because silly, inconsiderate and talentless players like yourself allowed it to spill over onto the rest of the site. It wasn’t enough for you to play bad poker on the allin tables, for a year you’ve come
onto the regular tables and played bad poker there too, with no regard for players like me, Tough, Vicky, Numchucka, Hebewanna and scores of others. You started to think of the site as being yours, it’s not now and it never was. It’s Ryan’s.
You’re very confused about another thing, namely me. I didn’t learn about poker sitting here all day. I was playing stud and draw with adults for nickles and dimes when I was 9 yrs old. I was playing Texas Holdem and Omaha thirty years ago while you were still in diapers. Now I play three or four live tournaments a month ( I usually cash ) and I’ve won more than a few. Twice a month I deal blackjack and Holdem professionally ( that means I get paid ). I used Ryan’s site to become a better player, not only on his site but also in real life. I’ve learned to be more aggressive and yet still avoid losing early in tournaments to ” dead money ” players like you. It’s helped tremendously.
The bottom line is this. Players that left the site because of the problems caused by you guys are coming back. RedAces, Dunny, Saasiesusie, Sadiesue to name a few. The site is a better place now. For poker players.
Here’s my advice for you though. If you still don’t want to learn how to play the game as it was intended on this site, you should get together with your sister Brooklyn and buils an all allin holdem site. You could call it BingoAllinPoker.com

I have a fix for all your crying, take and set it up so if a player sits out for 3 hands it takes them off the table, then some will quit crying about it.
Yes i did it twice but wasnt done on purpose but last night i got a sandwich and got a phone call at the same time that lasted no more than 10 and they all started there nasty crap so i did just sit there for that reason but if they do it, and yes you have its ok.
Playing both 1 mill tables does the same thing when you have 3 or so of the same players at both then how can someone get a seat?

Hi Ryan, instead of bringing in more higer stake tables, you might want to consider slashing everyone bankrool and bring it to a more realistic amount. I think what Gannan suggested earlier (to divide all bankroll by 100) might work cos this will bring down all players bankroll to below the billion mark. With the present tournament payout, reducing all bankroll will reduce reckless play cos players doing so might end up broke as they are not longer able to recoup their losing through All-In play at the tourney tables.
Also please consider my suggestion(comment left on 5th December) on the buy-in rule to prevent players banking their winnings all the time. How can a player improve his/her game if that player cannot even control 5 million chips on the table but yet have billions in his/her accounts?
